Harvey Raven
 Harvey Raven, born in Holland, raised in Australia, he speaks Dutch and has a seafaring ancestry dating back to 1592. A former Queenslander, he is our senior skipper and the Boss. An offshore Yachtmaster Instructor with 40 years sailing experience, 20 years of ocean racing (usually aboard the winner) and many international voyages, he’s one of Australia’s most experienced catamaran skippers. A Nature nut and the originator of all our activities, you could find him leading any of them. Customer service is his obsession, hence the “Love it or it’s free” guarantee.
Geoff Brooks
 Geoff Brooks, was born in England and raised in Australia. In 1998 we brought him over from Queensland just to do our Shotover upgrades. He grew to love Shark Bay so much that he joined our team. We’ve yet to find a problem he can’t solve. If we can break it, he can fix it. So you can rest assured, Shotover is one of the best maintained and safest boats you’ll ever sail on.
Mark Benson
 Mark Benson started with us in 1995. A Shotover skipper, he has sailed the Pacific as far as Tahiti. Mark has spent a lot of time with dolphin research scientists and provided boat support for National Geographic’s documentary “Dolphins - The Wild Side”. Ask him anything about the wildlife you see – he’s sure to have an answer. You’ll also meet him under the stars on Awestronomy.
Grant Kelly
 Grant Kelly. A Taswegian, Shotover skipper, qualified chef and a nature-lover, came to Shark Bay as a chef, discovered us, and joined our crew in 2003. He’s an off-the-beach cat sailor and loves surfing, scuba-diving, camping and hiking. He has spent a year in the Pacific on a scientific research yacht and married one of the dolphin researchers so Grant has a personal source of information.
Nik Smith
 Nik Smith, born with seawater in his veins, as a youngster he was bouncing around boats in his family’s boat business. An accomplished yachtsman and successful competition dinghy sailor, avid surfboarder and kite boarder - we swear he spends more time in the air than the water. Nik loves people and has a wonderful affable nature which will have you feeling at home the minute you get on-board.
Murray Jeanes
 Murray Jeanes was born in NSW but regards himself as a West Aussie. After years in sales and marketing, a sea change, driven by his love of nature, the sea and our pristine landscape, found him in our crew. He comes from navy stock and is multi-talented, with expert knowledge of our marine environment. Whether he’s on Shotover or showing you the heavens in Awestronomy he’ll ensure you get the most out of every minute of your experience.
Russell Bodle
 Russell Bodle, born in WA, spent his previous life helping his fellow man as a nurse, ambulance officer and paramedic. In 2000 he moved to Denham and became a local. Russell loves boating, fishing and the great outdoors. With his expert knowledge of Shark Bay and the natural environment you can ask him virtually any question you like on tour, but be prepared for the occasional leg-pull. You’ll be in safe hands.
Sylvia Martin
Sylvia Martin, UK born and raised in Australia from age 12. A WA country girl who took to the road in her youth and travelled Australia, working as she went. A trained book-keeper Sylvia moved to Shark Bay after spending 10 annual holidays here. With her knowledge of Australia and Shark Bay she’s well placed to understand what you’ve seen and done and to advise you on what you still must do.
Derek Weston
Derek Weston was born in England and came to Australia via New Zealand. As part of our Monkey Mia office crew, he knows only too well that customer service is paramount in any business and has the certificates to prove it. He will do that extra to ensure you get the most out of your time with us. Give him your timetable and wishlist and he will create a memorable itinerary.
Scotty Simpson
Scott (Scotty) Simpson first started with us as a guide in 1994 and is today one of your skippers. A former Victorian, keen surfer, judo devotee and off the beach cat sailor, he was, at one time, drummer of a rock group contracted to Virgin. He’s a natural entertainer and dedicated to ensuring everyone has a great time.
